Meet Sarah
Sarah Gaer is a suicide prevention specialist, trauma responder, trainer, author, and speaker with more than 25 years in mental health. She brings clinical knowledge, frontline crisis-response experience, and a deeply human perspective to conversations that are often difficult to begin.
Sarah has supported people and organizations following suicide, homicide, natural disasters, public tragedies, and periods of prolonged stress. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: people deserve language that helps them understand what they are experiencing—and practical ways to respond with courage, compassion, and hope.
Ways to work with Sarah
Speaking
Keynotes and presentations that challenge stigma, invite honest reflection, and leave audiences with ideas they can carry into their work and lives.
Training
Evidence-informed learning in suicide prevention, Psychological First Aid, toxic and traumatic stress, peer support, and Soul Exhaustion and Soul Care.
Workplace Trauma Preparedness
Practical preparation for organizations that want to respond well when a death, serious injury, suicide, violence, disaster, or other traumatic event affects their people.
Soul Exhaustion and Soul Care
Soul Exhaustion names a form of depletion that can grow from caregiving, trauma, grief, responsibility, and the repeated weight of showing up for others. Soul Care offers a path toward reconnection—not a quick fix, but a way to care for the deepest parts of who we are.

Experience that reaches beyond the stage
Sarah has trained thousands of people in suicide prevention and crisis-response skills, presented at national and international conferences, and contributed writing recognized by SAMHSA and The Good Men Project. She is also an author, a coalition leader, a mother, an outdoor enthusiast, and a devoted companion to her Bernese Mountain Dogs.
Sarah’s audiences do not receive a detached lecture. They experience a thoughtful conversation with someone who understands both the professional responsibility and the human cost of this work.
